Description
Bleak House is considered by many to be Charles Dickens’ masterpiece.
Originally published in serial form from 1852-1853, the plots and subplots of Bleak House centre on a lengthy court case regarding a disputed inheritance. Despite the name, and the seemingly dry subject matter, it is a funny and emotional novel. Like so many of Dickens’ works, there’s a strong emphasis on injustice, this time perpetrated by the convolutions of the legal system.
